Hydration after a massage is essential as it can be dehydrating. Another suggestion is that water supports the kidneys and helps flush out any waste products produced during a massage. Either way, drinking water is good for the brain and body, so stay hydrated.


Avoid heavy meals

Massage can leave you feeling ravenous. One theory behind this is massage stimulates the circulatory system, boosting blood flow to areas of the body, like the digestive tract. Heavy meals can slow the digestive system making you feel bloated, sluggish, and lethargic.

Eating light and healthy snacks/meals can help counter this.


Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol

Avoid caffeine and alcohol if possible. Even if it’s just for the first few hours after your treatment, as both can cause dehydration.


Wardrobe additions

Wear something comfortable after your massage.

Favourite loungewear could be essential to keeping that relaxed feeling going.
